Life on the vine

Dan Maley is an editor in our newsroom here in Macon, Georgia, and, more important, for the purposes of this blog, is a wine lover.
A few notes via Dan:
"Here's a suggested topic; the Kendall-Jackson Vintner's Reserve '04 chardonnay is the first vintage of this famous budget wine to made entirely from grapes from K-J's own vineyards. It tastes GREAT and it can be had at $9.99."
That $9.99 is from a liquor store here where the owner specializes in finding some really good budget wines. You may have to pay more at other shops.
A suggestion from Dan of what you can add to your reading list:
"The introduction to Robert Parker's Buyer's Guide (a consumer manifesto) or the celebrated profile of Parker that Atlantic Monthly did a few years ago. Read it at

Thanks, Dan. As always, we appreciate your insights and counsel.
